Purchased the seat covers for my 2016 Corvette coupe. Wanted to change the color from Black to Red/Black. The quality of the covers is great. Fit to the seat is fine. I was quoted $1,000 to have them professionally installed. Much more than I anticipated. I therefore attempted to perform the installation my self. There are two issues which made the install very difficult for a non upholstery person. First issue is the fact that there are no metal pieces in the seat cushion and seat back foam to apply hog rings to. Maybe an experienced upholster person has some method of attachment. The GM seat covers have a listing with a "V" plastic piece that snaps into orange plastic clips that are molded into the foam pieces, There were no wires in the seat foam or on the seat frame to use for hog rings. The foam doesn't offer enough structure before it rips. It is almost impossible to add wires to the foam because my seats had cooling fans in the seat cushion and the seat backs had a cooling fan with a duct. I couldn't risk adding metal across the fans and duct. I found the GM listing online at Three Rivers upholstery supply in Pittsburg, Pa. However they would not sell to me as I was not a company. I then found a similar item that was made of all plastic at J&J auto fabrics in California. I took a chance that I could make something work and ordered a minimum quantity. I was able to attach the seat cover to the foam using wire and hog rings that joined the plastic pieces from J&J that were able to snap into the GM foam clips. The install would have been significantly easier had the listing that GM used been installed into the seat covers. The second issue was the cutouts on the sides of the seats for the seat controls. The cutouts were too small for the front wiring to reach the switches and had to be opened up. The slit for the claw that attaches to the wire rail above the switches was located in the wrong position and was too short. My 2016 2LT seats had an additional attachment that required a slit be done to the actual leather. This entailed some type of clip that snaps onto another metal wire rail. These affected both seats. Also, the passenger seat OEM cover has a clip sewn into the cushion on the outboard side that snaps into the rail above the switches. I have photos of everything and would be happy to send them if you all would like them. I like the way the seats look. That said, I really don't think this is a DIY installation and they should be professionally installed. I felt that the price I was quoted was based more on the fact they didn't want to bother doing the job. Unfortunately, there are no local places and I did not want to take my car 60 miles away and leave it. John Harry

Quality of the material(s) is great, very thick and well made. Stitching is good but, drivers side is cut incorrectly and the cut shows at the seat belt retainer. I am hoping you will make good on getting this seat back replaced as it doesn't show well for the quality of the manufacture. There are some items that would help the C7 Corvette owner in the installation. 1, needs to be mentioned that the plastic bars that clip into the seat foam need to be cut from the original OEM seat covers and inserted into the pocket on the seat covers from you. Otherwise the seat covers will not clip into the seat cushions for a tight fit. 2. Also need to notch the rubber attachment points on the seat back to make it easer for the cover to attach to the compound curves and make it fit much much better. The OEM covers are notched and it makes a huge difference. 3. The draw string for the lower seat cover needs to be of better material. I would suggest that it be made of nylon. The cotton type of string just isn't strong enough when you are trying to make the bottom seat cover fit correctly and tight. All in all the material is of great quality with just a few things that could help the person installing the covers.

This is the third set of upholstery I have purchased from Ridies in the last 6 years, 350z, C6 Corvette & C7 Corvette. They have always met or exceeded my expectations. I received my custom order in just a little over 3 weeks from order date. For the price it is an excellent value.

What a very nice experience. Exceeded my expectation.... The customer service was A+. Time was taken to educate me on the process, different design ideas... I was completely comfortable with allowing them to do the project for me. The turn around time was very fast, I was surprised... The leather seats turned out fantastic... I have since installed them in 2014 Corvette... The car is a head turner and the seats just sets it off... Very proud of the results. Many have asked me who completed the project and I have given them Ridies.. I owe them some photos of the seats installed. I will accomplish that this week and send out. The Blue Convertible Corvette Z51 with the Black Panther Logo on the headrest, you will know which one. Thumbs up...
